Shopify Migration in Morocco
We migrate your store to Shopify without losing traffic, data or sales. Complete URL mapping, 301 redirects verified one by one, and SEO monitoring for weeks after the switch.
The real risk of a migration: organic traffic
Migrating a store is technically simple. Migrating without losing months of SEO is much less so. Almost every failed migration has the same cause: URLs that change without redirects, leaving Google facing hundreds of missing pages.
Traffic does not collapse on launch day — it declines over three to six weeks, as old pages drop out of the index. By then, many providers have already closed the project. We treat migration as an SEO operation as much as a technical one.
Our migration method
The plan is written before anything moves, and every step is verifiable.
1. Map what exists
We extract every current URL, cross-referenced with your traffic and ranking data. That tells us which pages actually earn their place, and which are not worth carrying over.
2. Build the redirect plan
Every old URL is mapped to its new destination in a correspondence table approved with you. No blanket redirect to the homepage: that is the classic mistake, and Google treats it as an error page.
3. Migrate the data
Products, variants, images, categories, customers, order history and reviews. We check record counts before and after to guarantee nothing is lost in transit.
4. Rebuild local integrations
CMI and card payment, cash on delivery, carriers, invoicing, WhatsApp, marketing tools. A migrated store that cannot take payment on day one costs more than a one-week delay.
5. Test, then switch
End-to-end test orders, real payment runs, redirects verified one by one, tag checks. The switch happens in a low-traffic window, never on a Friday evening.
6. Watch what follows
For eight weeks: indexation, crawl errors, rankings and conversion rate. Migration problems surface in that window, and we are still there to fix them.
Where our clients migrate from
Each source platform brings its own traps. These are the ones we see most in Morocco.
From YouCan
The most common case among Moroccan brands that started fast and hit limits on design, speed and checkout. URL structures differ substantially from Shopify's, which makes the redirect plan essential. Sentel Parfum took this path, with revenue up 33% in the first month.
From WooCommerce
Usually a data-heavier migration: long history, accumulated plugins, complex category structures. The task is deciding what deserves to carry over, and cleaning up the catalogue rather than duplicating existing mess.
From a custom build
Often the best return: you stop paying to maintain infrastructure only you run. Data export takes more preparation, since there is no standard format to work from.
